Liberal ideology is a conception of man and society. It provides a set of norms and values which are of a universal nature. As the Liberal Youth Movement we focus on the right of each individual to take responsible decisions about priorities for him or herself and to realize personal aims, skills and talents. We focus on tolerance, democratic and peaceful means of government as well as on free access of everyone to all markets. We will take the lead in the discourse of strengthening rule of law, human rights and property rights. We believe the role of the state is to guarantee the rights of the individual, and to guarantee a political framework which enables everyone to make his or her own choices among the options available.

The liberal political values
which we shoulder are

  • Liberty
  • Individualism
  • Skepticism about Power
  • Rule of Law
  • Tolerance
  • Peace
  • Responsibility
  • Spontaneous Order

We believe that these liberal political values are not a set of political values which represent merely a political ideology but an ideology of lifestyle which the continuous practice leads to a better individual, a better community and a better country at large.

Liberty

Self-evidently, all liberals care about liberty. The ability to become the master of your very own life. Topped by our commitment that human flourishing is only possible if we empower each on all of us to become the author of their very own books of life. We believe in the core value of Freedom (LIBERTY), which can lead a nation to its prosperity. That is, to allow the free choices of individuals without interrupting, to create the background for each individual to become the self-author of their life story by affirming their civil, political, economic and social rights.

Individualism

Plus, they all commence from the same starting point; the individual. For liberals, individuals are at the center of everything. Because their lives ultimately matter. For the continuous and smooth existence of this social system, educating the society that each person is equally important and to develop a system that gives equal and maximum respect to each and every individual is among those values.

Skepticism of Power

Then, there is a common skepticism about power and towards those who yield it. Because power can be and has been abused. So we should be in constant doubt on leaders we personally support whether they exercise the power for the purposes for which they were appointed. And creating an investigative and interrogative modern generation of men is a value we shoulder.

Rule of Law

The tool of choice for liberals to limit power is the rule of law. For liberals, this is not a technical tool, it is not about big legal books. For liberals, the rule of law represents the shared rules of a society. And these shared rules matter.

Tolerance

We often disagree with each other. And we do not only disagree on small questions such as the education policy; but we disagree about everything that matter such as religion, justice, and the meaning of a good life. To deal with this disagreement, we can not only rely on rules. We need the virtue of tolerance. Accepting other points of view and other choices is crucial for liberals. And that is why peaceful dialogue, discourse, and voluntary action are a separate value for liberals. Liberal societies move forward by better arguments, not by more force.

Peace

Very simply it’s the mindset that recognizes and cherishes individual differences and instead of trying to conceal or silence them (Tolerance) With a change-model that respects human dignity, the trusts in persuasion and the uncoercive force of the better argument (Peace).

Responsibility

Liberals do not only value individuals. They also expect certain things from them: They need to take responsibility for their own action and their communities, let it be friends, family or society at large.
However, liberals do not believe that they should take responsibility by delegating from the top. Instead, they should use the creative powers of democracies, markets, and civil society to achieve their ends. We shoulder to groom a citizen who will find his position above the politicians and political parties

Spontaneous Order

And that finally leaves the agency with ordinary people on the ground instead of superhuman bureaucrats. More particularly, we believe that this system has not been developed through central direction of one or few individuals but through the unintended consequences of the decisions of individuals each pursuing their own interests through voluntary exchange, cooperation and trial and error.
And good outcomes will emerge! These eight values represent the universal basis of liberalism.
What we have done so far.

Continuous Liberal Education

At the moment we are conducting weekly zoom sessions, monthly physical sessions and workshops to enhance political literacy. Through these sessions we aim to socialize liberalism into a lifestyle philosophy which goes beyond a political ideology. There we have addressed the aspects that nobody tried to address through liberalism. We were honored to get the contribution of the experts in respective fields.
